Jay's family comes from a small town in the South, and his mom was the first to move to Raleigh, NC, inspiring other family members to do the same. Jay experienced true happiness and freedom the first time he traveled overseas and knew he had to continue to do so. Even though Jay has experienced fame and fortune in his previous careers as a lyricist and celebrity photographer, he prefers to live below his means so that he can fund experiences over expenses.
